NRBC!!!!!!!

The legend of Wimpys Little Step rolls on! Shawn Flarida and his two Wimpy four year olds, Wimpys Little Chic and RC Fancy Step placed first and second at the National Reining Breeders Classic in Katy, Texas. Besides winning the open finals, Wimpys Little Chic also won the mare incentive. Ask anyone who was there and they will tell you that it was truly and amazing performance. Wimpy's offspring won a total of $218,000 at the NRBC, bringing the total money won by his offspring to over $660,000 in just over nine months since the first ones competed last summer. Read more about the show and see the open finals results. Bookings for 2009 are coming in fast. If you are even thinking about breeding, please contact Brent as soon as possible for a contract. Presently, you can book for an "on farm" breeding at $7,500. That will change on September 1st, when the fee will go up to $10,000, if there are still any breedings available.

NEW ADDITION TO THE COLT COMPANY BROODMARE BAND

We at the Colt Company are happy to announce the addition of a great new mare to our small but select broodmare band. A few years ago Martha Randall of Quail Hill Ranch at Whitesboro, Texas sent QHR JAMAICA EXPRESS to Brent Loseke for training and to be shown. Brent started out that year with the intention of getting a small record on her so Martha could use her as a broodmare eventually. To make a long story short, by the end of the year JAMAICA was the high point AQHA reining mare in the nation, Superior Reining Horse, and top ten at the AQHA World Championship Show. Brent made Martha an open offer that if she ever wanted to sell the mare, he would like to know. Recently Brent got the phone call that he had been waiting on and the deal was quickly done. JAMAICA is the bay mare on the top of the winners page on this website. She will be bred to Wimpys Little Step for a 2009 foal. Thanks Martha!

BRENT LOSEKE IS NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2009 APPRENTICE PROGRAM

Although it seems like a long way off, Brent Loseke is making plans and taking applications from young people who are willing to spend at least one year as apprentices with Brent at Green Valley Ranch. If interested, applicants should contact Brent by e-mail, and be prepared to shoot a video of them riding, preferably on a young horse. This is not a program for beginning riders. The more experience you have, the better.

Also, Wimpys Little Buddy with Andrea Fapanni were second in Arizona.

PANAMA CLINIC

Panama has a long, rich, and traditional history with horses. Reining, however, is very new there. At the invitation of Roger Pitti, president of the Panamanian Quarter Horse Association, Brent Loseke went to Santiago Panama to teach a two day clinic to fifteen riding students and many more who were there to observe. The clinic, done in Spanish with a little help from an interpreter, was a great success. By the end of the second day, both the horses and students had learned much. Brent would like to thank Roger Pitti and everyone else for the hospitality and good times that were shared during his time there.
